Job summary

Kandor Management in Burnaby, BC, is seeking a Senior System Administrator to lead and support enterprise IT infrastructure. You will oversee Azure, SharePoint, M365, backups, security, and compliance while partnering with leadership to optimize costs and service quality.

You'll design and maintain DR/BC plans, manage vendor relationships, and drive IT initiatives from onboarding to acquisitions, ensuring ISO 27001 alignment and strong data protection practices.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and managing enterprise IT infrastructure.
• Proficiency with Windows Server, Windows, macOS, and SQL Server.
• Experience with cybersecurity compliance and cloud/hybrid deployments; familiarity with EDR, SIEM, and MDM.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Senior System Administrator (hands-on leadership role) to support Kendrix, our technology division. You will take ownership of critical systems — from virtualization and disaster recovery to security and compliance — while collaborating with stakeholders to keep technology running smoothly and cost-effectively.

• Systems Administration: Manage and support Azure and SharePoint environments including Entra, Azure VMs, SharePoint permissions, and SharePoint sites.
• Microsoft 365: Manage and support subscription users and applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Power Automate.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Design, build, and continuously improve backup and DR systems; apply industry best practices and establish rigorous testing for backups, failover, and failback.
• Security: Implement and maintain best-practice security standards across all systems and infrastructure.
• Vendor & Contractor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to maintain a healthy IT infrastructure.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Meet regularly with VPs, Directors, and Managers to advise on IT infrastructure while managing and optimizing costs.
• Project Management: Own IT initiatives, including ongoing system improvements, IT asset integration for acquisitions, new office onboarding, and application deployments.
• Compliance & Security: Contribute to procedures supporting ISO 27001 certification and ensure security policy and data protection compliance.
• Asset & License Management: Maintain IT control documentation and inventory of assets and licenses, including update processes.
• Training & Documentation: Deliver training and end-user documentation.
• Onboarding/Offboarding: Manage IT assets, systems, and applications for new hires and departures.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and managing enterprise-scale IT infrastructure, including remote access, Azure, SharePoint, and M365 environments.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Windows 10/11, and macOS, plus SQL Server.
• Experience with cybersecurity compliance and deployment across Cloud, On-Prem, Desktop, and Cloud-hybrid environments; familiarity with EDR, EPP, SIEM, and MDM; intrusion detection/monitoring of cloud and on-premise solutions.
• Strong understanding of security best practices and IT compliance frameworks; ISO 27001 experience is an asset.
• Experience with SSO and MFA, including Entra integration; familiarity with SAML and OIDC is an asset.
• Experience overseeing helpdesk operations, including SLA/KPI management, ticketing systems, and process improvement.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical leadership.
• Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-company IT environments, ideally including M&A integration or office onboarding.
• Strong organizational skills with experience maintaining IT documentation and asset management systems.
• After-hours support as needed to ensure uninterrupted service for the business and its customers.
