We’re a dynamic, independent studio of over 1200 passionate employees, with studios in Toronto (Behaviour Toronto), Rotterdam (Behaviour Rotterdam), and the UK (Behaviour UK–North & South). Our core business focuses are Services and Original Games. Our Services team collaborates with gaming and entertainment giants like Disney, Sony, Activision, and Nintendo, delivering exceptional work-for-hire development and pioneering immersive location-based entertainment (LBE). Our Original Games unit pushes creative limits, including our signature IP, Dead by Daylight. Join us and be part of the future of interactive entertainment!

At Behaviour Interactive, we believe in giving everyone a fair shot. We embrace a diverse and creative environment where everyone is celebrated. We value individuals of all ages, sexes, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, gender identities, civil statuses, disabilities, and other protected characteristics as per applicable law.

We are seeking a senior programmer to join the Dead by Daylight anti-cheat team

The anti-cheat team is responsible for ensuring game security and integrity, working within a larger production that includes various programming, game design, art, animation, and other disciplines. This small, cross-functional team of programmers encompasses system, gameplay, and backend specialists. Your primary responsibility will be to design and implement anti-tamper solutions addressing game vulnerabilities.

To help us achieve our long-term vision for Dead by Daylight, we need a senior systems programmer who can integrate into the team and be accountable for delivering such features.

In this role you will:
  1. Deliver DbD systems: Code new systems and refactor existing ones, focusing on anti-cheat features.
  2. Fix bugs: Maintain a live game by resolving bugs and issues of varying complexity.
  3. Improve performance and memory: Profile the game, detect bottlenecks, and optimize performance.
  4. Platform consistency: Ensure features and fixes work across all supported platforms, from PC to consoles.
  5. Collaborate with other teams: Work closely with programmers, game designers, UI, backend, and art teams to deliver features.
What we're looking for:
  • This is a senior role requiring at least 5 years of industry experience.
  • Versatility in working on various aspects: low- and high-level code, features, bugs, frontend, and backend.
  • Expertise in C++.
  • Experience with backend online services is a plus, including knowledge of NodeJS, Typescript, and AWS.
  • Solution-oriented mindset and collaborative spirit.
