Job summary

Integratedcooling is seeking a Senior Swim Instructor to deliver high-quality lessons, prioritize water safety, and support the professional development of the instructional team, contributing to a safe and enriching swimming experience for all participants.

You will mentor new instructors, supervise lesson plans and safety protocols, lead by example in technique and coaching, foster a positive, inclusive team culture, track student progress, and step in as substitute when needed.

Qualifications

• Valid NL and Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C & AED.
• Previous experience as a competitive swimmer is an asset.
• Previous experience as a swim instructor.
• Strong understanding of swimming techniques, strokes, and safety protocols.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and guide new instructors. Leadership abilities to inspire and motivate our teams towards achieving high-quality instruction.
• A professional demeanour with a positive attitude and the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Conduct swimming lessons for students of all ages and skill levels, demonstrate proper swimming techniques, strokes, and safety practices. Provide constructive feedback and support to help students improve their swimming abilities.
• Assist in the training and orientation of new swim instructors, guide them through the lesson plans, safety protocols, and teaching methodologies. Serve as a mentor and resource to help new hires integrate smoothly into the team.
• Ensure a safe and secure swimming environment by maintaining constant vigilance and enforcing our water safety protocols.
• Foster a positive and inclusive work culture among the swim instructor team, encouraging teamwork, mutual support, and a passion for teaching.
• Make a splash of fun by creating a positive and lively atmosphere that encourages laughter, camaraderie, and a love for swimming.
• Keep track of student progress, provide constructive feedback, and celebrate milestones as they master new swimming skills.
• Act as a substitute instructor as needed.
