What You’ll Do:

Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to join our growing Supplier Quality team. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical assembly manufacturing, structured problem solving, and supplier quality management. This role reports to the Director of Supplier Quality. Responsibilities:

1. Work collaboratively with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of quality parts and assemblies that meet CoolIT engineering specifications and manufacturing requirements.
2. Proactively work with supply chain, manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to define requirements and ensure supplier systems are capable of meeting them, preventing quality issues.
3. Perform on-site supplier audits to validate compliance with quality standards.
4. Establish and maintain data-based relationships with suppliers to provide visibility and support where needed.
5. Review and approve Supplier PPAP submissions and updates.
6. Participate in PFMEA and Control Plan development with suppliers to identify and mitigate potential risks.
7. Manage supplier quality issues using 8D methodology to define problems, contain issues, find root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
8. Serve as the primary contact between suppliers and CoolIT to ensure effective communication.

Basic Qualifications:

1. Post-secondary Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math.
2. Minimum of 5 years experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer or Quality Engineer.
3. Experience with AIAG Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).

Preferred Qualifications:

1. BSc./BEng. in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
2. At least 5 years experience as a Quality or Supplier Quality Engineer at a Tier 1 automotive supplier or OEM.
3. Lean Six Sigma and/or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification.

Skills:

• Experience with APQP, PPAP, and AIAG methods including PFDs, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and Statistical Analysis.
• Structured problem solving skills (8D, PDCA, DMAIC, 5P).
• Knowledge of Design Controls like GD&T, DFM, and Tolerance Analysis.
• Statistical Process Control and Design of Experiments.
• Supplier auditing, scorecards, and continuous improvement.
• Excellent teamwork, project management, and communication skills.
• Strong sense of urgency and responsiveness.
• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
