What you’ll be doing

As a Team Leader, Compensation Administration , you will provide specialized operational knowledge and guidance to Volumes & Commission department staff consisting of ten administrative staff performing a range of clerical and accounting adjustments each month. You will ensure the ongoing operation of the department is performing effectively and efficiently, meeting all month-end deadlines. General responsibilities include reviewing work of administrative staff, coordinating work-flow processes, providing knowledge and guidance for commission related issues and projects (for Clients, Finance and Technology). Investigation is typically required to complete the work and an in-depth knowledge of CIBC World Markets policy is preferred.

How you’ll succeed

Provide operational leadership and coaching – Act as the team’s senior point of contact by providing day-to-day guidance, coaching, and specialized knowledge on commission-related processes, accounting adjustments, and issue resolution. Support colleagues in resolving complex matters while helping ensure work is completed accurately and on time. Strengthen processes, controls, and reporting – Support the effective execution of procedures and controls related to commission processing, reconciliations, financial journals, reporting, and attestations. Help identify gaps, investigate variances, and promote compliance with audit, SOX, and business continuity requirements. Lead complex issue resolution and stakeholder support – Investigate/solve commission-related inquiries, General Ledger impacts, and technical issues, and provide guidance on escalations, projects, and business initiatives involving partners across Finance, Technology, and the business. Drive continuous improvement – Identify opportunities to improve workflows, enhance efficiency, and support implementation of process or system changes. Contribute to projects, testing, and issue analysis to help improve operational effectiveness.
