As Director, Human Resources Regulatory Compliance Management, you’ll lead a specialized team responsible for monitoring regulatory changes related to employment legislation that impact Human Resources globally and ensuring key regulatory and compliance reporting obligations are met accurately and on time. You’ll oversee the Human Resources regulatory compliance monitoring program, assess regulatory developments, and support enterprise-wide compliance activities, audits, and attestations. You’ll also lead critical Employment Equity reporting requirements while partnering primarily with teams across PC&T, Legal, and Compliance. In this role, you’ll build strong relationships across the bank, influence stakeholders at senior levels, and help drive consistent, effective, and risk‑aware Human Resources regulatory practices. At CIBC, we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you’ll succeed
  • Lead regulatory oversight – Direct the Human Resources regulatory compliance management function and act as the Oversight Function Lead for Human Resources, ensuring alignment with regulatory compliance management program requirements and internal policies.
  • Ensure controls are in place, as well as designed and operating effectively, to support business unit monitoring activities.
  • Drive compliance monitoring – Develop, implement, and oversee efficient and effective monitoring programs that identify global regulatory changes affecting employment law, assess impacts, determine risk ratings, and report regulatory developments to applicable stakeholders.
  • Manage reporting obligations – Oversee the completion and timely submission of regulatory and legislated reports, including Employment Equity, and other HR‑related compliance deliverables.
  • Partner across the organization – Collaborate with stakeholders across Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, and business leaders to support high‑quality submissions to regulators.
  • Support audits and attestations – Manage responses to regulatory reviews, audits, and examinations, and support quarterly and annual accountable officer attestations and related governance activities.
  • Lead and develop a high‑performing team – Coach and support direct reports while fostering a strong team environment focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and operational effectiveness.

  • You communicate detailed information in a meaningful way.
  • Your influence makes a difference.
  • You know that relationships and networks are essential to success.
  • You inspire outcomes by sharing your expertise.
  • You act like an owner.
  • You thrive when you're empowered to take initiative, go above and beyond, and deliver results.
