We are now seeking an experienced Senior Substation Electrical Engineer to join our Canmore, Alberta office. In this full‑time, permanent role, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of high‑voltage substations, ensuring their reliability, safety, and efficiency for our industrial and utility clients across British Columbia and Alberta. The Senior Substation Electrical Engineer will be a technical lead on high‑voltage substation projects. Responsibilities include:

Substation Design Leadership

• Lead a team of engineers and EITs in the design of high‑voltage substations, mentoring and developing junior staff.
• Collaborate with other disciplines (civil, structural, protection, etc.) to ensure integrated designs.
• Develop conceptual and detailed designs for substation equipment and layouts.
• Review engineering deliverables and seal work as the Professional Engineer of record.

Power System Studies and Specifications

• Conduct power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, and grounding, and propose improvements.
• Develop technical specifications for substation equipment (transformers, breakers, etc.) and assist procurement teams to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Documentation and Commissioning

• Create design drawings, schematics, station layouts, and detailed engineering reports.
• Draft energization and commissioning plans, perform on‑site field inspections, and supervise substation commissioning.

Project and Client Management

• Manage project scope, budget, and schedule for assigned work.
• Work closely with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, and support proposals and business development.
