Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for its Canadian mine infrastructure team, focusing on asset management, field inspections, and brownfield remediation. The role involves hands-on site work in challenging mining and water facilities, leading design, and ensuring compliance with Canadian codes.

You will mentor junior staff, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to project delivery from feasibility through commissioning, in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering (or equivalent).
• 6+ years of structural engineering experience, with emphasis on asset management, structural condition assessments, and brownfield remediation.
• Ability to perform hands-on field inspections in challenging environments, from remote underground mines to water treatment facilities.
• Expert knowledge of Canadian structural design codes (CSA S16; CSA A23.3).
• Valid driver’s license and clean record required.

Responsibilities

• Execute asset management and field inspections across mining and industrial assets.
• Prepare remediation and repair plans based on inspection findings.
• Lead structural engineering tasks across project phases from scoping to commissioning.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and civil teams for integrated solutions.
• Develop client relationships and support business development.
• Ensure compliance with EGBC or other provincial regulatory bodies and maintain safety.
