Giffen Consulting Ltd. is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing team in Saskatoon. You will lead design and review of structures for mining and heavy industrial projects, conduct site investigations, and mentor junior staff.

This full-time role offers client-facing responsibilities, 3D modeling, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree, Canadian P.Eng., 8+ years in mining/heavy industrial environments, and proficiency with

Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural) from an accredited university.
Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada.
8+ years of progressive Structural Engineering experience on mining/heavy industrial projects.
Familiar with standards, regulations and codes of practice.

Responsibilities

Conduct site investigations for mining and industrial projects.
Review and design structures, building envelope systems, and structural components per guidelines and client specs.
Create concept studies, including estimating quantities and preliminary designs.
Prepare detailed concrete and steel designs and 3D models with documentation.
Provide oversight on tendering, contract administration, schedule, and budget.
Review cost estimates and assist where needed.
Write and review technical reports, specs, and construction specifications.
Coordinate with departments and disciplines for project implementation, mine design, and inspections.
Travel for site visits as required.
Present project designs to clients and stakeholders.
Collaborate with vendors and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
