Job summary

Randstad Canada seeks an experienced Structural Engineer to translate design concepts into manufacturing-ready structures. You will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and CAD Designers across the project lifecycle to deliver safe, efficient structures with high quality and performance. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Civil/Structural Engineering, P.Eng.

(or eligible), and at least 7 years of experience. Proficiency with SAP2000/ETABS/RISA and drafting tools is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering required.
• P.Eng. registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC or eligible via transfer.
• Minimum 7 years of structural building design experience.
• Knowledge of Canadian building codes; US codes/standards a plus.
• Experience with steel, concrete, and wood construction; multiple materials a plus.
• Experience with structural analysis software (SAP2000/ETABS/RISA).
• Experience with drafting/modelling software (Revit/AutoCAD/Bluebeam) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop standards, design tools, and technical specifications for products to streamline project delivery.
• Communicate engineering concepts with diverse teams in a timely and professional manner.
• Identify and resolve technical problems and troubleshoot issues.
• Review and support production of drawings and documentation for fabrication and permitting.
• Provide structural engineering services as the Structural Engineer of Record and coordinate with third-party consultants.
• Prepare evaluation reports, construction documents, and proposals.
• Support manufacturing with plant/process improvements.
• Assist sales/marketing with product guidelines and technical support throughout proposals and contracts.
