Job summary

Entuitive is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Edmonton office and be part of the Structural Engineering team focused on innovative building solutions.

You will lead structural design and calculations for key components, coordinate with BIM technologists, mentor junior engineers, and engage with clients to present design concepts and progress through project milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or master’s in structural engineering or equivalent.
• Experience leading design teams on complex projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design and calculations for columns, beams, slabs, foundations, and lateral systems.
• Coordinate drawings with BIM technologists and other engineers.
• Conduct field reviews and project contract administrative duties.
• Lead internal design teams and mentor junior staff.
• Lead client meetings and provide status updates on design progress.
• Review architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural drawings.
• Monitor internal project costs and assist with invoicing.

What will you do?

• Structural engineering design and calculations for all structural components including columns, beams, slabs, foundations, and lateral systems from the beginning to end of a project lifecycle.
• Design and engineering using materials such as structural steel, concrete, masonry, cold formed structural steel, and wood.
• Works to assemble and coordinate engineering drawings and contract documents in collaboration with our BIM technologists and other members of the engineering team.
• Conduct field reviews and other contract administrative duties.
• Drafts project-related correspondence as needed.
• Lead internal project design teams, including delegatingappropriate designtasks to and overseeing the technical production of the design engineers.
• Lead clientmeetingsfacilitating solutions to design issues and challenges and providing status updates.
• Conducts review of the architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural drawings.
• Effectivelyuses QA tools and completes checklistsandsubmitsthem to the project engineer asrequired.
• Mentors junior staff with design and delivery elements of a project to ensure standards are upheld.
• Monitoring of internal project costs and review of monthly invoicing
