Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in Canada is seeking a senior Stress Engineer DTA for aerospace applications. You will apply damage tolerance analyses and repair expertise to aircraft primary structures, with potential for leadership and career growth.

The role is remote within Canada (Eastern hours) with relocation support to Montreal/Mirabel. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to manuals and maintenance publications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with a minimum of ten years in stress analysis in the aerospace industry, including at least eight years performing damage tolerance analyses on aircraft primary structures.
• Minimum of three years of repair experience in aircraft/airframe.
• Good understanding of applicable airworthiness regulations (Transport Canada is an asset).
• Dynamic, proactive, responsible with good judgment.
• Strong knowledge in aircraft metallic structure stress analysis; experience with commercial aircraft structures is a plus.
• Comfortable in interpreting aircraft structure repair drawings; Catia V5 is a plus.
• MS Office proficiency; Visual Basic coding is an asset.
• NASGRO expertise is required; Golihat experience is an asset.
• Strong written and spoken English; French is a plus.

Key responsibilities

Required Skills

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with a relevant experience of minimum of ten (10) years in stress analysis in the aerospace industry including a minimum of eight (8) years performing damage tolerance analyses on aircraft primary structures.
• You have a minimum of three (3) years of repair experience in aircraft/airframe.
• You have a good understanding of applicable airworthiness regulations (experience with Transport Canada is an asset).
• You are a dynamic person with initiative, a strong sense of responsibility and good judgment.
• You have good knowledge in aircraft metallic structure stress analysis (practical experience on commercial aircraft structures is an asset).
• You are comfortable in interrogating aircraft structure repair drawings (Catia V5 is an asset).
• You master MS Office software. (Visual Basic coding experience is an asset).
• Expertise in NASGRO (required). (Golihat experience is an asset).
• You have strong, written and spoken, communication skills in English (French is an asset).
