Job summary

Bombardier in Montreal, QC, is seeking a Senior Engineer in Stress to join the Aerospace Canada division at Marcel-Laurin Plant 1. This role focuses on validating structural integrity of aerospace components and leading MRB activities.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical or aerospace engineering degree and at least 10 years of experience in the aerospace sector, with proficiency in Patran/Nastran and CATIA V5. Bilingual English/French is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • Ten years of relevant aerospace experience.
  • MRB and airframe repair experience preferred.
  • Experience with structural substantiation analysis: static, fatigue, damage tolerance.
  • Proficient with Patran/Nastran, Nasgro, and CATIA V5.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Engineering and Operations organizations.
  • Perform stress analyses of Static Strength, Fatigue/Durability, Damage Tolerance, and FEM for metallic and composite structures.
  • Perform MRB duties in support of Operations activities.
  • Participate when required in Engineering development work.
  • Work in close cooperation with other Engineering functions (Liaison, Design, Materials & Processes, Weights, Project, Systems, Program, etc.) and Operations (Methods, Quality, and Production).

What are your contributions to the team?
  • Support the Engineering and Operations organizations;

How to thrive in this role?
  • You hold a bachelor’s degree or a Master's degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering;
  • You have a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in the aerospace industry (preferably with an OEM);
  • You possess Material Review Board (MRB) and Airframe Repair work experience (preferred candidate);
  • You have knowledge and experience of Aircraft structural substantiation analysis: Static, Fatigue/Durability, and Damage Tolerance;
  • You have experience using Patran/Nastran, Nasgro, and Catia V5;
  • You have proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office;
  • You will integrate a position that requires energetic people with good communication skills, who are willing to accept responsibilities in a multidisciplinary team working environment;
  • You must also be a person with initiative, strong sense of responsibility and good engineering judgment;
  • You have flexibility in working week-end if necessary;
  • Bilingualism (English and French) would be an asset.
