Job summary

Brock University is seeking a Strategic Events Manager to lead a portfolio of high-profile events for the President and Vice Presidents. The role requires coordinating across university units and external partners to achieve strategic priorities, while delivering consistent, high-quality event experiences.

Reporting to the Executive Director, this fixed-term contract includes health, dental benefits and pension, with vacation up to three weeks per year.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in event management with large, complex events.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating strategic, results-driven events.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments.
  • Strong project management across multiple high-profile projects.
  • Knowledge of event management best practices and Canadian government protocols.
  • Experience in budget development and monitoring.
  • Independent worker with high productivity and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of a strategic portfolio of high-profile events.
  • Conceptualize innovative strategies for executive signature events.
  • Set objectives, plans, KPIs, and lifecycle management for events.
  • Lead post-event analysis and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage project delivery to align with objectives and experience standards.
  • Develop event plans with timelines, budgets, logistics and risk management.
  • Manage budgets including forecasting, tracking and reconciliation.
  • Coordinate internal and external partners and timelines.
  • Align events with Brock brand through Marketing and Communications.
  • Prepare briefing materials for senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and legal requirements.
  • Serve as a resource on event strategy and execution.
  • Identify opportunities for institutional collaboration in event delivery.
