Baker Tilly Catalyst is currently looking for an experienced, motivated, and client-driven individual to join our growing team as a Senior Staff Accountant. We seek a candidate to assist us in providing service excellence, ensuring all aspects of our clients’ needs are met and exceeded. Your primary responsibilities will include :

  1. Assist in preparing client accounting records, financial statements, corporate and personal income tax returns
  2. Draft and review financial statements
  3. Prepare T1s, T4s, T5s, GST, and other compliance returns
  4. Prepare journal entries, individual and corporate tax returns
  5. Prepare corporate client financial statements (Audit, Review, and Compilation)
  6. Prepare individual and corporate tax returns
  7. Make updates using the client’s accounting software, including posting to general ledgers, reconciling accounts, and reviewing reports
  8. Collaborate with peers and management on file planning and completion, ensuring that time requirements are met
  9. Provide personal, attentive service to clients, encouraging productive working relationships

A successful candidate will have :

  1. Designated CPA
  2. 3-5 years prior tax season experience (minimum)
  3. 3-5 years public practice accounting experience (minimum)
  4. Experience in owner-managed business
  5. ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise) experience is a must
  6. Entrepreneurial mindset with commitment to client service and teamwork
  7. Strong desire and dedication to work, learn, and thrive in a fast-paced, innovative, and dynamic environment
  8. Excellent communication and analytical skills
  9. Self-motivation and a strong work ethic with an ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  10. Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters
  11. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
