Job summary

Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish, BC seeks a Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team. You will lead across restaurant service, catering and events, production kitchens, and seasonal outlets, reporting to Head Chef and collaborating with Executive Chef.

This role emphasizes versatile leadership across multiple business units and hands-on kitchen management. Ideal candidates will drive high standards, manage staffing and training, ensure food safety, and contribute to sustainable operations

Qualifications

Experience leading a kitchen team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong food safety and sanitation knowledge.
Able to stand for 8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
Valid Food Safe Level 1 and Serving It Right certifications.
Criminal record check completed.

Responsibilities

Lead daily culinary operations across restaurant, catering, events, production, and seasonal outlets.
Supervise, mentor, train, and develop culinary team members.
Support and oversee Chef de Parties and front-line kitchen teams.
Ensure consistent execution of recipes, presentation standards, and food quality.
Assist in staffing, scheduling, labour management, and productivity planning.
Lead pre-shift meetings and ongoing culinary training initiatives.
Execute and oversee catering events, weddings, banquets, and functions.
Coordinate production schedules and prep levels for demand.
Monitor food quality, portion control, waste, and costs.
Maintain Food Safe, HACCP, sanitation, and safety standards.
Incorporate sustainable practices and support environmental goals.
