Overview

GitHub supports the success of businesses and organizations by enabling collaborative software development of high quality. We are seeking experienced Senior Solutions Engineers in Canada to provide technical support to our enterprise sales teams.

Our Senior Solutions Engineers manage technical relationships with clients and prospects, acting as strategic advisors to address technical objections and propose creative solutions throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). They collaborate closely with sales, product development, and industry experts to identify tailored solutions that meet client needs and support digital transformation initiatives. They represent client interests, ensure optimal alignment of our solutions with client objectives, and maintain a comprehensive understanding of GitHub’s ecosystem.

Responsibilities
  • Develop Technical Strategy: Lead all technical aspects of the sales process, from discovery to proof-of-concept, ensuring smooth transition to post-sales teams.
  • Identify Customer Needs: Analyze and synthesize client business and technical requirements, aligning them with GitHub solutions and supporting their digital transformation goals.
  • Build Sales Partnerships: Collaborate with sales and customer success teams to develop joint strategies and improve customer experience.
  • Act as a Trusted Advisor: Guide clients through complex technical scenarios, including migrations, and build relationships with decision-makers, advocating for secure and innovative software development practices.
  • Showcase Products: Demonstrate GitHub solutions, incorporating industry trends like AI and DevSecOps into customer scenarios.
  • Maintain Industry and Product Knowledge: Stay updated on GitHub’s ecosystem, emerging trends, and client challenges, sharing insights internally.
  • Customer Enablement: Use technical resources to accelerate adoption and ensure successful integration of GitHub solutions.
  • Support Marketing: Contribute technical content for marketing and participate as a speaker at industry events in Canada and the US.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in technical consulting, sales, or related fields, OR a bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience, OR a master’s degree with 2+ years, OR a doctorate, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fluent in business French, both oral and written.
  • Experience in technical sales with Canadian clients.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
  • Deep knowledge of the SDLC, including source control (Git/GitHub), CI/CD, DevSecOps, and AI impacts on development tools.
  • Experience working with large software development teams.
