Senior Solutions Architect (m / f / d) - AMERICAS

Ververica seeks an experienced Senior Solutions Architect to join our Customer Success team in North America. This highly technical role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing real-time data streaming solutions, focusing on Apache Flink and Ververica's Streaming Data Platform. You will collaborate directly with customers and cross-functional teams, leveraging expertise in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native technologies to deliver impactful solutions.

This role emphasizes delivering professional services, including hands-on technical implementation, architecture consulting, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze customer requirements and design scalable, reliable stream-processing solutions.
• Provide technical implementation support and expertise deploying Apache Flink and Ververica's platform in pre-sales and post-sales engagements.
• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept implementations to validate solution feasibility and performance.
• Offer architectural guidance, conduct technical reviews, and promote best practices in stream processing.
• Deliver professional services, including technical training, workshops, and performance optimization consulting.
• Act as a subject matter expert on Apache Flink, real-time stream processing, and distributed architectures.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, reference architectures, and best-practice guides.
• Stay informed on emerging streaming technologies, cloud platforms, and data engineering methodologies.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to share customer insights and influence platform improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in professional services, consulting, or solutions architecture.
• At least 5 years working with distributed systems, data engineering, or software architecture, including 2+ years specializing in Apache Flink.
• Strong proficiency in Java; experience with Python and SQL is beneficial.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
• Deep knowledge of cloud-native deployment architectures and experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Expertise in performance tuning, monitoring, debugging, and optimizing distributed data pipelines.
• Experience conducting technical workshops, training, or delivering professional services to customers.
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting skills, and stakeholder management.
• Strong communication skills; ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Preferred qualifications include experience with managed stream-processing services, data serialization formats, modern data infrastructures, and knowledge of security and governance practices. Contributions to open-source projects or involvement in technical communities are a plus.
