Job summary

Benji Pays in Vancouver is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join our dynamic team. You will build and maintain scalable, secure, and compliant web applications using Node.js, Express, EJS, HTML/CSS, and TypeScript, with MongoDB as the data store.

You will own projects from inception to deployment, collaborate with product managers and designers, and push for code quality and maintainability. A hybrid work model in downtown Vancouver is expected, with opportunities to grow as the company

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Development, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of experience developing web applications with backend focus.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS and responsive development.
• Strong MongoDB knowledge and experience.
• Experience designing front-end integration libraries or SDKs.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and templating engines like EJS.
• Expertise in writing automated tests and debugging across stack.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across multiple layers and deliver quality code.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable, secure, and compliant web applications and services (Node.js, Express, EJS, HTML/CSS, JS/TS, MongoDB).
• Take ownership of projects from inception to deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, support teams, and other developers to meet requirements.
• Deliver clean, readable code adhering to best practices and standards.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to augment development workflows.
• Troubleshoot across frontend, backend, and database layers; maintain integrations with APIs.
• Participate in code reviews and share knowledge with the team.
• Contribute to engineering culture and practices.
