Job summary

Electronic Arts Canada, Vancouver campus, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Animation team within Frostbite. You will work on core animation systems and tools used by content creators, contributing to real-time runtime performance and immersive gameplay.

You will collaborate with animators, technical artists, and game developers to turn creative concepts into playable features, mentor junior engineers, and help shape next-gen animation pipelines in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong programming skills to improve and debug C++ and C# code.
  • Experience with 3D math, transforms, rotations, and coordinate systems.
  • Performance and memory profiling.
  • Experience with concurrent programming models.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Take ownership of animation features from technical design through to production, testing, and multi-platform support.

Our Animation team oversees the core platform that animation technologies across AAA games are built upon. As part of our team, you will handle a variety of rewarding engineering challenges—from improving user workflows for content creators to optimizing real-time runtime performance. As a Senior Software Engineer in the Animation team, you will report to the Development Director in Animation. You’ll work on core animation systems that run in-game, as well as the tools and workflows used by content creators to build and author animation data.

This role is Hybrid remote/in-office.

You Will:

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

PAY RANGES

Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.

For Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and other incentive programs.
