Job summary

NMI, a global leader in payment technologies, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join our Development team in Canada. You will design, build, and maintain core billing and invoicing systems using C# and PHP, while applying AI-assisted development with Claude and Cursor to accelerate delivery.

You will collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, and QA to ensure secure, scalable systems, mentor juniors, and drive CI/CD improvements in a fast-paced, compliant environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with C# and/or PHP in large-scale billing systems.
• Strong OO design and ability to translate business needs into robust tech.
• Experience ensuring PCI DSS and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core billing and invoicing systems.
• Lead AI-assisted development using Claude and Cursor in daily workflow.
• Review AI-generated code for correctness, security and performance.
• Own architectural decisions for billing components.
• Mentor junior developers and improve CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to preempt issues.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, and QA for releases.
