You'll work with cutting-edge ML / AI technologies , including deep learning retrieval systems and GenAI / LLM-powered recommendations , alongside sophisticated MLOps in a high-volume e-commerce setting. We're integrating with Google GCP Vertex AI to supercharge our algorithms, aiming to enable personalized discovery of unique inventory for all users.

Responsibilities

• Deploy big data technologies and large-scale data pipelines, managing billions of items and millions of users.
• Contribute to systems that personalize live commerce experiences on the platform.
• Influence the future of how users interact with recommender systems and how this technology evolves.
• Develop and deploy innovative AI models to production, directly impacting millions of buyers.
• Collaborate with a global team of applied researchers, product managers, and engineers.
• Drive marketplace Gross Merchandise Volume (GMB) and advertising revenue through organic and sponsored recommendations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience leading an agile engineering team.
• Proficiency in using cloud services (GCP).
• Experience with big data pipelines (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and databases (e.g., key-value stores).
• Demonstrated experience in production engineering practices and software development in an Object-Oriented (OO) language (e.g., Scala, Java).
• Experience with high-volume traffic web application development in an industrial setting.

Nice To Have Skills

• Experience working in an ML / AI technology environment.
• Experience building personalized recommender systems or other forms of personalization technology.
