Norton Rose Fulbright Canada is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop and support enterprise-grade cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure. You will work within the Middleware and Integration team to enable data integration using Azure services and Fabric platforms.

You will collaborate with Senior Developers, Data Engineers, DevOps, and Business Application teams to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable solutions aligned with our digital transformation strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• 8+ years of software development experience.

Job description

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise‑grade cloud solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric. This role focuses on developing cloud-native applications, and enabling enterprise data integration through Azure Service Bus, Azure Functions, and Microsoft Fabric platforms. The successful candidate will serve as a technical team member within the Middleware and Integration team, collaborating closely with Senior Developers Data Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and Business Application teams to deliver reliable, secure, and highly available solutions that support the organization's digital transformation strategy.

You will be focusing on:

• Develop enterprise-scale cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure services.
• Develop event-driven and asynchronous integration patterns using Azure Service Bus.
• Design scalable serverless solutions utilizing Azure Functions.
• Ensure solutions align with security, compliance, reliability, and performance standards.
• Microsoft Fabric Development Build and maintain Fabric Data Factory pipelines.
• Develop Lakehouse, Warehouse, and Real‑Time Analytics solutions.
• Integrate enterprise applications and operational systems into Fabric environments.
• Support data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and analytics workloads.
• Collaborate with other IT areas to enable enterprise reporting and AI initiatives.

Azure Service Bus Development

• Implement enterprise messaging solutions using Azure Service Bus.
• Develop publishers, subscribers, queues, topics, and subscription‑based architectures.
• Implement asynchronous processing and event‑driven integration patterns.
• Ensure message reliability, dead‑letter handling, retry policies, and monitoring capabilities.
• Develop reusable integration components and messaging frameworks.

Azure Functions Development

• Build serverless applications using Azure Functions.
• Develop event‑driven processing for business transactions and integrations.
• Implement secure API integrations and backend services.
• Optimize function performance, resiliency, and operational monitoring.

Software Development

• Develop high‑quality applications and APIs using C#, .NET Core/.NET, REST APIs, JSON, Entity Framework.
• Apply software engineering best practices and coding standards.
• Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers.
• Ensure solutions are maintainable, testable, and scalable.

DevOps & Automation

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement automated testing and deployment strategies.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering and Operations teams.

Security & Compliance

• Implement security best practices across all solutions.
• Integrate Microsoft Entra ID authentication and authorization.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security policies.
• Participate in security assessments and vulnerability remediation activities.
• Support audit and regulatory requirements.

Operational Support

• Support production systems and provide Level 3 application support.
• Troubleshoot performance, integration, and operational issues.
• Monitor application health using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.

What you bring to the role

Education

• Education Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.

Experience

• Experience 8+ years of software development experience.
• 2+ years developing cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure.
• 1+ years of hands‑on experience with Azure Service Bus.
• 1+ years of experience developing Azure Functions.
• 1+ years of experience working with Microsoft Fabric (Nice to have).

Development Technologies
