Job summary

Occupier is hiring an IC software engineer to build across the full stack using Ruby on Rails and React. You will own features end-to-end, set coding standards, perform reviews, and collaborate with product, design, and customer success to translate user needs into robust software.

This is a startup-like environment with a remote-first culture; offices in Toronto and Boston are available if you prefer. You will be expected to understand the domain, mentor others, and contribute to a growing

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional web development experience with Ruby on Rails or a similar framework.
• 2+ years of production experience in React (or Vue, Angular, Svelte, etc.).
• Experience modeling complex relational database schemas.
• Experience with AI agents, LLMs, model evaluation, vectors/embeddings, etc.
• Have mentored junior developers and led teams (leadership, not management).

Responsibilities

• Own & deliver features end-to-end using Ruby on Rails, React and similar technology.
• Set standards & best practices, and perform code reviews.
• Collaborate with product and design to refine specifications.
• Interface with Customer Success to understand pain points and improve the application.
• Understand the domain, user personas, problems, architecture, and product roadmap.

About The Job:

This is an individual contributor (IC) position, working on a broad range of features across the full stack.

• You will own & deliver features end-to-end using Ruby on Rails, React and similar technology
• You will set standards & best practices, and perform code review
• You will work with product, design and others to refine and iterate on specifications
• You will interface directly with our Customer Success team to understand customer pain points and improve the application.
• You will seek to understand the domain, user personas, problems they face, architecture of our product, and product roadmap
