Job summary

Intact is looking for a Guidewire Developer to support migrating the BillingCenter platform to Guidewire Cloud SaaS. You will work on the T Billing Development team to enhance functionalities and deliver robust Java applications in an Agile setting.

The role requires a bachelor’s in CS, 2+ years on Guidewire, strong Java skills, and bilingual French/English. You’ll engage with QA, Analysts, and other teams across Canada in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• At least two years of experience developing on Guidewire platforms
• Strong Java development experience
• Bilingual (French and English) with regular cross-country interaction
• Eligible to work in Canada with no sponsorship required

Salary Range (but Not Limited To)

101,800 - 124,400

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. About The Role

As part of the Contact Billing program which aims to deploy a billing and collection system across all Intact companies and provinces, we are looking for a Guidewire Developer to support the migration of the Guidewire BillingCenter platform to Guidewire’s Cloud SaaS version. This position is part of the T Billing Development team.

What You'll Do Here

• Contribute to the migration of Guidewire BillingCenter to the Cloud SaaS version;
• Enhance and develop functionalities that meet users’ needs;
• Design solutions, analyze issues, and recommend appropriate approaches;
• Prepare work effort estimates for assigned tasks;
• Program, test, debug, and document the solutions developed;
• Participate in the development of Java applications and services in an Agile environment;
• Work closely with Quality Assurance teams, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders;
• Participate in the developer community and contribute to the continuous improvement of practices, tools, and processes;
• Promote and apply software development best practices.

What You Bring To The Table

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a combination of relevant education and experience;
• At least two years of experience developing on one of the Guidewire platforms;
• Strong experience with Java development;
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• Bilinguism required (French and English) - Need to interact regularly with colleagues across the country;
• No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada;

• Guidewire certifications;
• Experience with Guidewire Cloud SaaS;
• Experience migrating or upgrading a Guidewire platform;
• Experience with Guidewire BillingCenter;
• Experience with Spring Boot;
• Experience with Cucumber and RestAssured;
• Experience with Git;
• Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence;
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines;
• Experience working in an Agile environment;
• Knowledge of the property and casualty insurance industry;
• Knowledge of billing and collection processes.
