Job summary

Randstad Canada is seeking a Senior Software Developer - Full Stack to lead end-to-end design and implementation of enterprise web apps in Toronto. You will translate complex specs into robust, scalable software with Java and Angular, RESTful services, and Oracle databases.

Responsibilities include full-stack development, UI/UX readiness with WCAG 2.0 AA, data pipelines, and SDLC collaboration within an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of dedicated programming in Java and/or Angular.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer - Full Stack to lead the end-to-end design, application engineering, data pipeline development, and database integration for enterprise web applications. In this role, you will translate complex technical specifications into robust, scalable, and secure applications. Leveraging extensive expertise in Java and Angular development, RESTful web services, Oracle databases, and modern web frameworks, you will build responsive user interfaces, engineer backend microservices, optimize data structures, and ensure full compliance with web accessibility standards.

Location: Toronto, ON (Fully Onsite – 5 days/week required)

Duration: 4-month contract.

Responsibilities

• Full-Stack Application Development: Design, code, test, debug, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using Core Java, Spring Framework, Angular, and Liberty application servers.
• Front-End & UI Engineering: Build responsive, user-friendly client-side interfaces and web components compliant with WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility standards.
• Backend & API Engineering: Construct and integrate RESTful API services (JAX-RS), WebSocket connections, and backend application services to enable seamless front-end to backend data flows.
• Data Pipelines & Database Administration: Design, build, and optimize data ETL pipelines; perform relational data modeling, schema design, and script development for Oracle databases.
• ORM & Integration Frameworks: Implement Java Persistence API (JPA) ORM frameworks (Hibernate, EclipseLink) and integrate APIs such as Windows Exchange Web Services (EWS).
• System Troubleshooting & Optimization: Resolve complex software defects, diagnose data record issues, optimize full-stack application performance for speed and scalability, and perform conversion/migration support.
• SDLC Collaboration & Documentation: Participate across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) within Agile/iterative delivery teams, authoring technical specifications and detailed documentation.

Qualifications

• Java & Angular Seniority: 10+ years of dedicated programming and development experience in Java and/or Angular (Strictly Required).
• Java Development Frameworks: Hands-on experience developing Java applications using Spring, Liberty, JPA 2.1 implementations (Hibernate, EclipseLink), JAX-RS, JDBC, and WebSockets (Strictly Required).
• Oracle Database & Data Modeling: Proven expertise in Oracle database design, data modeling, data analysis, and database script development (Strictly Required).
• Accessibility Compliance: Demonstrated experience designing and coding web interfaces that meet accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0 Level AA compliance) (Strictly Required).
• Data Pipelines & API Design: Experience conceiving, reviewing, and implementing data pipelines (ETL) and building RESTful web services (Strictly Required).

Nice-to-Have Assets

• Prior full-stack software development experience within a public sector environment.
• Experience with Windows Exchange Web Services (EWS) API integration.
• Familiarity with continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) automation and rapid application development (RAD) methodologies.
