We are currently hiring a Senior Software Developer Analyst based in our Burnaby Head Office.
Please note that this is a hybrid role based out of our Burnaby, BC office (3 Remote / 2 On Site). Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our Head Office or are not looking to relocate to the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region will not be considered.
As a Senior Software Developer Analyst, you’ll play a key role on our Corporate Applications team, driving the design and development of web applications, microservices, and IT process automation that power BCAA’s internal systems. You’ll work as part of a collaborative SCRUM team, applying your expertise in Next.js, Node.js and DevOps best practices to help build, evolve, and support our critical business platforms.

- You’ve worked extensively in both modern web development (Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript, React, and ASP.NET) and backend API and microservices
- You’re passionate about DevOps, automation, and reducing cycle time through CI/CD practices and modern infrastructure

- You’re a proactive problem-solver who provides leadership and mentorship in complex situations

- You’re an excellent communicator, able to collaborate across functions and clearly articulate ideas
What you’ll do:
- Lead the end-to-end design, development, testing, and delivery of complex applications and microservices that support BCAA’s internal business systems
- Provide technical leadership to SCRUM teams by setting coding standards, conducting code reviews, and mentoring less experienced developers
- Participate in architectural planning and design discussions, helping define scalable and secure solutions that align with business objectives
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code across multiple platforms, including Node.js based services
- Develop and execute unit, integration, performance, and regression tests to ensure quality, performance, and system stability
- Collaborate closely with QA, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to implement IT process automation and CI/CD pipelines
- Take part in all Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint demos, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups
- Support continuous delivery initiatives by integrating testing, monitoring, and deployment tools within the development lifecycle
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues quickly and effectively, applying root cause analysis and implementing preventative solutions
- Scope and estimate new development work, providing realistic timelines and effort assessments to project stakeholders
- Help document system architecture, development workflows, and technical decisions for ongoing team reference
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders to gather technical and business requirements, contributing to effective solution design
- Contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by identifying technical enhancements, process optimizations, and opportunities to modernize existing systems
- Carry out other related tasks and projects as assigned to support the evolving needs of the business
What you bring:
- Degree or diploma in Computing Science or Management Information Systems (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in web application development and code integration
- Strong background in:
- Frontend: Next.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, React, HTML5, CSS3, SASS, MUI, jQuery
- Backend: Node.js, Fastify, API development & integration
- DevOps & Scripting: Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Shell, Python, Dynatrace
- Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS, Vercel, Sitecore CMS
- Database Technologies: MS SQL Server, advanced SQL querying, NoSQL databases
- Solid experience with mobile-first and responsive web design
- Proven ability in system architecture, technical specification development, and process automation
- Experience in continuous integration and cloud development environments
- Bonus Skills:
- Experience with ASP.NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, C#, Sitecore CMS
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Strong facilitation and consensus-building skills

The salary range for this position is $94,384.68 to $121,730.88 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 9%, with the opportunity to earn up to 15%.
