Donna Cona Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Developer for one of our key clients. In this role, you will transform design and product vision into a seamless, engaging product. The successful candidate will stay updated with rapidly changing technology, learn new platform features, adopt the latest development practices, and have a passion for clean code, interfaces, and problem solving.

Requirements:

• A degree in computer science or equivalent education and experience, with over 5+ years in a developer role;
• Over 3+ years of development experience in Java or similar object-oriented language;
• Experience with writing and maintaining test code (JUnit, Playwright, etc.);
• Understanding of software design methodologies and documentation standards;
• Skills in Java 17, Maven, SQL, and both relational and non-relational databases;
• Knowledge of API usage in practice;
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills;
• Knowledge of insurance is an asset;
• Proven leadership skills;
• Ability to work with legacy technologies;
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work independently and in teams;

Demonstrated experience:

• Designing, developing, and testing software to specifications;
• Conducting code reviews and providing feedback based on industry standards;
• Implementing quality and data management tools and processes;
• Designing and implementing automated business tests;
• Communicating system solutions clearly to both technical and business stakeholders;
• Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure product quality;
• Mentoring team members;
• Participating in project planning and backlog refinement;
• Driving quality improvement initiatives;
• Consulting with architecture, analysts, and business units.
