Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an IT solutions designer to analyze requirements and craft functional/technical designs for complex insurance and financial services applications. You will collaborate with architects, developers, and business partners to ensure architectural alignment and governance across initiatives.

The role emphasizes Agile/Scrum practices, AI-enabled design in Azure DevOps environments, and mentoring colleagues while maintaining comprehensive design documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• 3–7 years of relevant IT solution design experience.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and excellent communication.
• Solid understanding of complex application environments.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Knowledge of insurance or financial services, underwriting and new business operations is a plus.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, .NET 8, Git, SQL Server, MongoDB, BizTalk, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and mainframe environments.
• Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence to design or optimize web-based products in Azure DevOps contexts.
• Intermediate English, advanced French proficiency.

Requirements

• Experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Knowledge of the insurance or financial services industry, particularly underwriting and new business operations, is an asset
• Experience with several of: Azure DevOps, .NET 8, Git, SQL Server, MongoDB, BizTalk, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and mainframe environments
• Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence capabilities to design, develop, or optimize modern web-based products and services within Azure DevOps environments
• Intermediate English proficiency, spoken and written
• Advanced French proficiency, spoken and written
