Job summary

Banque Nationale du Canada is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join the Observability team in Montreal. You will contribute to the enterprise observability vision, promote industry practices, and design automated solutions in an IaC-driven environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration, leadership and the ability to translate IT needs into scalable observability and reliability improvements across cloud infrastructure and SaaS platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience in software development, site engineering or in a technical role related to observability and automation.
• Proficiency with tools or technologies such as Datadog, Splunk, Vector, Python, AWS (EKS, Helm, EC2, Lambda), Terraform, GitHub and Docker.
• Ability to design technical solutions, optimize processes and apply recognized software engineering practices.
• Leadership, autonomy, curiosity, openness to feedback and the ability to support teams in adopting new practices.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the enterprise observability vision and promote the adoption of industry-recognized practices.
• Organize initiatives, structure information and communicate with clients.
• Use your political skills to support the transformation.
• Understand the needs of IT teams and propose technical solutions adapted to their business challenges.
• Develop proofs of concept, automations and solutions in “everything as code” mode.
• Guide team members in the design, implementation and improvement of observability solutions.
