Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Site Inspector to join our Field Services Team in Canada. The role supports large-scale infrastructure projects and focuses on field inspections, documentation, and coordination with the Contract Administrator.

The position requires Civil Engineering or Technology credentials, 4+ years of relevant experience, and registration with OACETT or PEO. Travel across the GTA, Trenton, Kingston regions is anticipated.

Qualifications

A post-secondary diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology/Technician or equivalent.
Minimum 4 years’ experience in engineering/construction on MTO or municipal projects.
Registration as a Technician/Technologist with O.A.C.E.T.T. or Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training with PEO.

Responsibilities

Inspect and monitor construction activities for compliance with contract documents.
Maintain field diaries and 기록s of field data and payments.
Coordinate inspections and testing with service providers and contractors.
Attend site meetings and liaise with the Contract Administrator on resolutions.
Able to manage multiple priorities in field and office settings.

Stantec is now hiring for Senior Site Inspectors to join our Field Services Team. Your Key Responsibilities

Linear infrastructure experience required (watermain and commissioning), structural rehabilitation, fast track and large quantity concrete base construction an asset.
Familiar with Inspection and Testing Plans an asset
Assists with monitoring and calculation of production rates
Assists with monitoring compliance with and administering terms of operational constraints of the contract
Manage all paperwork and communication within the field office
Provides a leading role in monitoring compliance to commitments of and administering construction contract provisions regarding the Contractor's Quality Control Performance Measures
Checks and inspects construction activities, operations, and work to ensure compliance with the contract documents, drawings, and specifications
Conducts site surveys, confirms scope of work, obtains relevant information, equipment and materials and maintains quality and payment records in a daily diary for the work completed
Compiles field/test data in a report form for review by the Contract Administrator
Liaise / Coordinate with service providers for specialized inspections and/or testing to ensure the tasks are completed per the terms or reference, specifications or agreement
Obtain video / photographic records as required
Record, review and address contractor questions and clarifications by reporting to the Contract Administrator for resolution if not already provided to the contractor
Attend site meetings and reconnaissance on-site
Able to handle multiple priorities without losing focus

Your Capabilities And Credentials

Familiar with field construction activities
Able to work on weekends, nights, shift work, additional hours as required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Proficiency with MS Office
Previous office administration experience working in a construction office setting an asset
A valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicle
Able to travel and work in the Greater Toronto Area [GTA] and east to Trenton and Kingston areas

Education And Experience

Minimum 4 years' experience in engineering/construction working on MTO or municipal projects.

Designation as determined by OACETT as a Road Construction Senior Inspector (RCSI) or Road Construction Contract Administration (RCCA)

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
