Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience on civil/utility projects.
• CSCS essential; SMSTS and First Aid desirable.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.

Job description

RTL Group are seeking a Senior Site Engineer on a long term Freelance basis for a major tier one main contractor on a Major Pipeline Project in Peterborough.

This is a technically challenging scheme involving deep trenching, large-diameter pipe installation, and significant environmental considerations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead setting out and surveying using GPS and total station

Ensure works comply with drawings, specs, and QA procedures

Produce and review method statements, risk assessments, and ITPs

Manage technical queries and interface with design and client teams

Oversee subcontractor works and ensure safe, efficient delivery

Maintain accurate site records and progress reports

Support temporary works and ensure compliance with permits and consents

Supervise and mentor junior engineers and site operatives

Requirements

Civil Engineering degree or equivalent

5+ years’ experience on civils / utilities projects

Proficient in GPS, AutoCAD, and QA processes

CSCS (essential), SMSTS and First Aid (desirable)

Strong communication and coordination skills

Able to work independently and drive progress on site
