Job summary

University of Calgary’s Diagnostic Services Unit invites applications for a Senior Serology Technician. The Fixed Term position runs for approximately 18 months, with a 35-hour week and potential for extension. The role involves ELISA-based serology testing, data management in LIMS, and QA/QC contributions.

Based at the Spy Hill Campus with possible travel to Foothills Campus, this position requires strong teamwork, precision, and independent work as part of the DSU Laboratories team.

Qualifications

• ELISA testing and serology workflows
• Quality assurance in a diagnostic lab
• SOP development and revision
• Accurate data entry and record keeping
• Cross-functional collaboration in a teaching/clinical environment

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples and perform ELISA for serum antibody detection
• Maintain and review serology results in the LIMS and report findings
• Contribute to QA/QC programs and SOP documentation
• Develop and validate new methods as directed by senior staff
• Maintain inventory of consumables and ensure proper laboratory practices
• Support teaching and service activities within DSU
