Job summary

Government of Alberta is seeking an Information Security Officer 3 (Security Architect, Application and Product Security) to safeguard Alberta’s digital services. You will embed security across DevSecOps, lead architecture initiatives, and collaborate with client departments to strengthen security capabilities.

The role emphasizes protecting critical systems, guiding secure development, and aligning with ISMDs and policy instruments while contributing to enterprise security posture.

Qualifications

• university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of related experience in secure solution delivery / CI/CD / security architecture.
• Related two-year diploma or one-year certificate with corresponding experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and advocate security architecture and DevSecOps policy instruments.
• Provide security guidance across application and product security projects.
• Lead security initiatives and projects within a DevSecOps framework.
• Perform security reviews and advise on secure coding, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and third-party solutions.
