Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Senior Sector Controller to lead a team of Sector Controllers and Senior District Accountants, overseeing monthly and quarterly financial reporting and ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

You will provide accounting analysis, review balance sheets and client billings, and partner with Operations and senior management to explain results, support decision-making, and ensure internal controls and compliance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Accounting.
• Accounting designation or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years financial accounting experience in a computerized environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of Sector Controller and Senior District Accountants.
• Oversee monthly and quarterly financial reporting for accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide accounting analysis to ensure accurate statements within deadlines.
• Review balance sheet and operating statement analyses and guide issue resolution.
• Review client reporting and billings to meet obligations.
• Partner with Operations and senior management to explain results and support decisions.
• Support internal, external, and client audits.
• Ensure compliance with policies, standards, and internal controls.
• Support onboarding of new business accounting.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency.

Job description

The salary range for this position is $88,000 to $105,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation.
