Job summary

JPI Solutions in Calgary, AB is seeking a Senior SCADA Specialist to lead high-quality automation projects and architect SCADA systems for diverse industrial clients. You will collaborate with engineers and project teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions and ensure performance across installations.

The role emphasizes mentorship of junior staff, knowledge-base contribution, and ongoing learning through training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of industry experience in SCADA/automation.
• Bachelor's or technical degree in Electrical, Automation, Process or Computer Science engineering (or equivalent).
• 2+ years leading a high-performing automation team.
• Experience designing and architecting 2–3 large SCADA projects.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design innovative automation and SCADA systems for proposals and quotes.

On your resume, we ask that you outline the following qualifications:

• 10+ years of industry experience.
• Degree in Electrical, Automation, Process, or Computer Science Engineering; or Instrumentation Technologist Diploma; or Electrical Technologist Diploma; or a Journeyman Instrumentation Mechanic or Journeyman Electrician certification.
• 1-2+ years leading a high performing automation team.
• Must have designed and architected 2 to 3 large SCADA projects.
• Familiarity with platforms like Ignition, Geo SCADA, VT SCADA, Aveva System Platform, and various communication protocols (MQTT, Modbus, etc.).
• Standard First Aid Level C and H2S Alive certificates.
• Valid Driver's License.
