Job summary

Canada Life in Toronto is seeking a Senior Salesforce Technical Lead to guide the design and delivery of software solutions. You will own solution architecture and end-to-end lifecycle, collaborating with Digital Technology and architects to ensure platform alignment and technical excellence.

You will lead a cross-functional team, mentor engineers, drive agile delivery, and contribute hands-on in Apex, Lightning Web Components, integrations and code reviews.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years delivering software, integration or platform engineering solutions following a SDLC.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Salesforce development including Apex, LWC, Flows, Platform Events, REST APIs, and enterprise-scale design.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce Sales, Marketing and Service Clouds.
  • Desirable knowledge of Salesforce AI capabilities and API integrations.
  • Agile delivery experience and ability to mentor teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a cross-functional team to develop, modify, configure and integrate solutions to meet business requirements and engineering specifications.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to plan work, prioritize tech debt and vitalization items.
  • Deliver solution architecture artifacts defining non-functional requirements and end-to-end impacts.
  • Remain hands-on with development activities including Apex, LWC, integrations, debugging and code reviews.
  • Enforce coding standards, quality, versioning and configuration management.
  • Drive improvements to accelerate delivery, quality and maintainability.
  • Partner with multiple teams to deliver solutions and build trusted relationships.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members; foster agile mindset.
  • Support digital modernization initiatives and evolving roadmaps.

TheSenior Salesforce Technical Leadis responsible for leading the development of software product and integrated solutions that meet customer expectations. You will create the solution architecture and design for your product in collaboration with Digital Technology platform and architects. You will oversee and make decisions on the overall design and development of the platform as well as the end-to-end lifecycle, aligning to best practices in collaboration with product and architecture. You will maintain a high degree of technical and business acumen related to your product to effectively contribute to the architecture and overall lifecycle of the solution

What you will do:
  • Lead a cross-functional team to develop, modify, configure and integrate solutions to meet business requirements and engineering specifications
  • Collaborate with the business PO to plan product work, prioritizing tech debt and other technical vitalization items
  • Deliver solution architecture artifacts that define non-functional requirements and implementations as well as end-to-end system and business impacts in collaboration with architects and other teams
  • Remain hands-on with development activities including Apex, LWC, integrations, troubleshooting, proof-of-concepts, and code reviews to provide effective technical leadership and mentorship
  • Maintain and enforce technology best practices, policies and procedures regarding coding standards, versioning, quality and configuration
  • Drive product improvements that will accelerate delivery, increase quality, and reduce maintenance
  • Collaborate closely with multiple teams to deliver solutions
  • Build strong and trusted relationships with internal and external partners
  • Focus on continuous learning and professional development
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to other team members
  • Drive an agile mindset within the product stack that measures progress over perfection
  • Hold yourself and your team accountable to contribute to the overall digital modernization of the organization
  • Ensure solutions are enhanced, secured, and upgraded to evolve the roadmap
What you will bring:
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in business or computer science or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience delivering software, integration or platform engineering solutions following a SDLC
  • Expert-level proficiency in Salesforce development including Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, Platform Events, Integration Patterns, REST APIs, and enterprise-scale solution design.
  • Solid understanding of Salesforce Sales, Marketing and Service Clouds
  • Solid understanding of the following is an asset:
  • Knowledge of Salesforce AI capabilities (Agentforce, Einstein, Prompt Builder) and AI governance
    • Salesforce integrations and an understanding of API’s
    • Salesforce Platform Developer II and/or Salesforce Architect certifications
    • Agile delivery experience
  • Proficiency with software development techniques such as Unit Testing, Continuous Integration, Test-Driven Development and Automated Testing
  • Be a technical thought leader, overseeing development and quality standards, including code reviews, code management, documentation, testing and product/platform-based monitoring and alerting
  • Strong understanding of industry best practices
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain collaborative business relationships
  • Able to pivot and quickly change direction in response to changing priorities
  • Experience coaching and mentoring software developers on requirements analysis, design patterns and development best practices
  • Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, complex concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Working knowledge of Jira, Confluence and GIT an asset
  • Experience working in financial services industry as an asset
  • Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website. The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life.

The base salary for this position is between $113,500.00 - $163,500.00 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
