Job summary

BBA Consultants in Toronto, Ontario seeks a Principal Resource Geologist to provide technical leadership in mineral resource estimation and geological modelling. You will advise clients, oversee complex mandates from exploration to feasibility, and drive growth of the resource geology practice through mentorship and business development.

The role requires 15+ years in resource geology, professional designation under NI 43-101, and mastery of Leapfrog, Datamine or Seequent Central for robust

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in geology or geological engineering; a graduate degree is an asset.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience in resource geology, mineral resource estimation and geological modelling.
• Member in good standing of a recognized professional association and eligible to serve as a Qualified Person under NI 43-101.
• Demonstrated track record leading mineral resource estimates and technical disclosure for multiple commodities.
• Advanced expertise in geological interpretation, geostatistics, estimation methods and QA/QC.
• Proficiency in Leapfrog, Datamine and Seequent Central or comparable software.
• Strong leadership, professional judgement and ability to communicate risks to executives.
• Established client relationships and business development experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review mineral resource estimates, interpretations and 3D models across commodities and project stages.
• Provide Qualified Person oversight for disclosure and reporting under NI 43-101.
• Define and approve resource estimation strategies including validation, domaining and interpolation.
• Lead technical reviews, audits and gap assessments for drilling, sampling, QA/QC and databases.
• Author and review reports for studies from PEA to feasibility and operating mines.
• Advise clients on geological risk, data collection and fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Direct multidisciplinary mandates, coordinate scope, budget, and deliverables with stakeholders.
• Mentor geologists and promote standardized workflows and peer review.
