Job summary

Gateway Group in Hamilton is seeking a Project Operations Manager to own the project delivery lifecycle, from schedules and budgets to change orders and client handoffs. You will work with the Construction Manager and lead the project coordinator to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery for residential renovations, additions, and multi-unit housing.

This hands-on role emphasizes financial control, proactive problem-solving, and continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Project Manager on residential construction or renovation projects
• Built project schedules and job-cost budgets and closed out projects with minimal oversight
• Knowledge of Ontario Building Code and end-to-end construction processes
• Strong organizational skills and proactive problem-solving
• Proficient with scheduling or PM software like MS Project/Procore/Buildertrend

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project schedules in collaboration with Construction Manager
• Coordinate priorities across the delivery team to drive on-time completion
• Build budgets, track costs, forecast to complete, protect gross margins
• Coordinate trade quotes, scope reviews, and vendor awards
• Scope, price, and obtain approvals for change orders before work begins
• Take projects over from sales at contract signing and hand off to field
• Improve PM processes and implement appropriate software
• Lead the project coordinator and own weekly scorecard numbers
• Ensure one schedule and one budget per active project that the team trusts
• Keep clients updated through closeout
