As aSenior Regulatory & Environmental Advisor,you will join one of our many Canadian office locations as part of our growing Regulatory Planning and Permitting team, with responsibilities as follows:
Provide technical expertise and leadership on environmental regulatory applications adhering with federal, provincial, and municipal regulations and guidelines
Deliver expert advice and senior-level review to projects including environmental planning and assessments, regulatory applications and stakeholder engagement for a variety of market sectors. This includes oil and gas, midstream, mining, power generation and transmission, petrochemicals, and infrastructure
Act as the TA while supporting environmental permitting and compliance requirements for projects
Contribute to business development activities including bolstering client accounts with previous experience and client contacts, contributing to client account management, as well as leading proposals including scoping and budgeting
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency and quality in project execution
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to intermediate and junior team members
Participate in maintaining Montrose’s strong safety culture
What We Are Looking For
Minimum of 12 years of environmental consulting experience in environmental regulatory planning and permitting projects in Western Canada in oil and gas, midstream, mining, power generation/transmission, petrochemicals, and infrastructure projects
Experience with midstream and pipeline development applications and associated regulations in British Columbia and with the Canadian Energy Regulator (CER).
Experience with mining regulations, permitting and development applications for a variety of industries (oil sands, rock and brine hosted minerals, and coal)
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering, environmental science, geography, resource management, or related environmental discipline
Experience with provincial and federal regulations and permitting requirements
Demonstrated and repeated success in environmental planning and assessments, regulatory applications, project management, and client engagement
Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams as a TA or technical reviewer
Proven success in project proposal preparation and presentations
Strong business development skills
Existing client relationships in one or more market sectors (e.g., oil and gas, midstream, mining, power, infrastructure)
Demonstrated leadership and communication skills in a collaborative environment

This is a permanent position with a salary range of $140,000-$175,000, starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location.
