Job summary

City of Vernon is seeking a Recreation Facility Operator IV to manage daily operations, custodial duties, and basic maintenance of indoor/outdoor ice arenas and aquatic facilities. The role emphasizes safety, customer service, and efficient facility management.

Reports to the Coordinator, Recreation Operations, Arena Operations and Supervisor, Aquatic Operations, with work hours including evenings, weekends and holidays. Requires related education/experience and a valid BC licence.

Qualifications

Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence required.
Refrigeration Operators Certificate required.
Minimum one-year experience in recreation, arenas, aquatics, or related environment.
Combination of related education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

Perform routine custodial tasks in arenas and aquatic facilities.
Carry out minor building maintenance such as painting and basic plumbing.
Monitor refrigeration and aquatic equipment readings and report issues.
Ensure safety and compliance with WorkSafeBC, Technical Safety BC, and City of Vernon policies.
