Job summary

Millennium EMS Solutions Ltd. is seeking a senior leader to guide complex reclamation, remediation and construction projects across Western Canada. The role blends office and field work (80/20) in a consultancy setting, emphasizing technical quality and defensible client deliverables.

You will mentor staff, review reports, support proposals and drive safety, QA/QC and continuous improvement while upholding MEMS values.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Develop work plans, schedules, cost estimates and technical strategies for reclamation and closure projects.

  • Oversee field programs, subcontractors and technical quality requirements.

Job description

This is a senior role within the Reclamation and Construction team providing technical leadership, senior review, professional oversight, mentoring, and support for complex reclamation, remediation, and construction projects throughout Western Canada. The role is responsible for ensuring technical quality, regulatory compliance, and defensible client deliverables while supporting staff development and project execution. This full‑time position requires a combination of office and field work (80/20 split) in a consultancy environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess project requirements and client needs to develop work plans, schedules, cost estimates, and technical strategies for construction, remediation, reclamation, and closure projects.
  • Provide senior technical leadership and support for complex reclamation, remediation, and construction projects.
  • Interpret site, regulatory, and environmental data to identify risks, issues, and technically defensible solutions.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee project execution, including field programs, subcontractors, and technical quality requirements.
  • Conduct senior technical review of reports, assessments, regulatory submissions, and client deliverables.
  • Provide professional sign‑off of technical documents in accordance with professional and corporate requirements.
  • Identify technical risks, data gaps, and regulatory issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Mentor, coach, and support staff in technical execution, report writing, project delivery, and professional development.
  • Provide technical guidance to project teams, Project Managers, Service Group Managers, clients, and regulators.
  • Support proposal development, scope definition, cost estimating, and project risk assessment.
  • Participate in safety, quality assurance, quality control, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support technical standards, best practices, knowledge transfer, and discipline development within the organization.
  • Complete all work in accordance with MEMS values.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
  • Applicable Bachelor’s degree or Diploma with emphasis on reclamation or soil science;
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the execution and management of site assessments and reclamation, focusing on the oil and gas industry.
  • Eligibility for membership in a relevant professional organization is required.
  • Knowledge and experience with the 2010 Reclamation Criteria and Guidelines as well as the Tier 1 and Tier 2 Remediation Guidelines.
  • Knowledge and experience with the BC Contaminated Sites Regulation, BC Site Remediation and Reclamation Manual and BE Ecological Suitable Species Guideline, Schedule B – Site reclamation requirements, and BCER Certificate of Restoration program.
  • Knowledge of the reclamation certificate application process and a strong understanding of agricultural, forestry and oilfield practices.
  • Must be able to meet the requirements of site access as dictated by our clients, this may include pre-access drug, alcohol and fitness testing, and
  • possess a valid, non‑GDL Class 5 Drivers license.

  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of MS Office Suite. Proficiency in presenting complex results clearly.
  • Strong understanding of agriculture, forestry and oilfield industry; including associated practices and sciences.
  • Knowledge of reclamation certificate application process.
  • Understand and follow environmental industry’s best practices
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong mentoring skills.
  • Experience driving, hauling a trailer and operating ATVs.
  • Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic and be able to work effectively in a team in a multi‑disciplinary setting with strong interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented with solid organizational and time‑management skills
  • Willingness to travel; and
  • excellent safety attitude
Working Conditions
  • This individual should expect to spend approximately 20% of their work time at client sites; each individual trip lasting anywhere from 1 to 10 days. This individual may conduct assessments at industrial facilities and or greenfield sites in remote locations. In some cases, the field work may include carrying sampling equipment.
  • Office environment that requires sitting for extended periods of time, as well as field work.
  • Prolonged exposure to computer keyboards and computer screens.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Sometimes requires long hours of work. Occasional interruptions outside work hours and travel to other locations are required.
  • Ability to work varying shifts, including the occasional evening and night; and
  • Required to walk, stand, climb, bend forward, kneel down, crawl, reach and grasp, push and pull objects, lift and/or move up to 30 kg, sometimes over the shoulders, repetitive bending and lifting of items, along with repetitive arm movements.
Pay Transparency

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At MEMS certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Pay Range: $90,000 - $135,000
