Wenco International Mining Systems in Richmond, BC, seeks a Senior Software Developer to modernize a decades-old real-time C++ system. You will own extraction work, define architecture, and shape service boundaries while collaborating with a cross-functional team.

You will deliver production-grade code daily for a modern stack including Kubernetes-based services, Python microservices, and React front ends, while ensuring safe refactoring of the legacy platform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in production environments with complex, high-uptime systems.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and navigating a large, mature codebase.
• Experience with at least two core languages (C++, C#, Python, React).
• Strong coding practice: clean, maintainable, well-tested code.

Responsibilities

• Understand the existing C++ codebase to make safe extractions and refactors.
• Shape the high-level architecture and define service boundaries for the modernization effort.
• Own the design of APIs, data models, and inter-service interactions during the transition.
• Write production-grade code daily on a modern stack (Kubernetes, Python microservices, React front ends).
• Deliver end-to-end build, release, and deployment processes.
