Job summary

Partner Company in Canada seeks a Sr. Embedded Software Engineer to build and evolve the embedded software platform powering a fleet of autonomous delivery robots.

You will work hands-on with modern C++ and embedded Linux to develop reliable middleware and application frameworks. You will own significant platform components from architecture through validation, deployment, and fleet operations, collaborating with autonomy, systems, hardware, and software teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with embedded Linux, multithreading, and systems programming.
• Experience designing for latency-sensitive, real-time, or high-reliability systems.
• Ability to own complex software components end-to-end.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with robotics middleware or autonomous systems is valued.
• Experience deploying software on embedded computing platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robotics middleware and application frameworks using modern C++ on embedded Linux.
• Own platform components across their full lifecycle from design to deployment and fleet operations.
• Collaborate with autonomy and systems teams to translate safety and reliability requirements into software behavior.
• Develop instrumentation, logging, telemetry, and fleet-level metrics for system health.
• Lead design reviews and contribute to engineering standards and documentation.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to other engineers.
