Job summary

Mott MacDonald Canada is seeking a Systems Assurance Engineer to join its Rail Systems Practice in Toronto. You will deliver RAM and System Safety activities across the project lifecycle and collaborate with clients including TransLink, Metrolinx and TTC.

The role requires 5–8 years of relevant experience, a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, and knowledge of EN 50126 and safety analysis techniques. Hybrid work with three days in-office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, science or related discipline.
• 5–8 years' experience in Systems Assurance, RAMS or System Safety.
• RAM or System Safety on rail, transit or safety-critical projects; V-model knowledge.
• Three+ areas from RAM planning, modelling, demonstration, hazard management, system safety, safety case, SIL.

Responsibilities

• Deliver RAM and System Safety across the project lifecycle.
• Prepare RAM plans, analyses, and assurance submissions.
• Conduct reliability, availability, and maintainability assessments.
• Define and verify RAM requirements and targets.
• Perform System Safety analyses and risk assessments.
• Maintain hazard logs with traceability and controls.
• Engage with clients, suppliers, and regulators as needed.
• Support safety cases and safety case elements.
