Job summary

Hitachi Rail Canada Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Analyst to join the Integration, Testing and Validation team in Toronto. The role focuses on ensuring quality of software delivery for large rail signalling projects, requiring leadership and mentoring of junior testers.

The candidate will work with software developers and systems engineers, gaining exposure to CBTC, rail signalling and related testing practices in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant software testing or development experience.
• Working knowledge of C, C++, Perl, or Python.
• Experience with modern software development methodologies (Agile, SCRUM, DevOps).

Responsibilities

• Analyzes system, subsystem and software requirements to define validation methods and test cases.
• Develops and maintains test plans, procedures and test cases.
• Prepares test reports and identifies root causes of failures.
• Conducts integration and test activities in-house and at project sites.
• Develops test automation and investigates test anomalies.
