Job summary

Hitachi Rail Canada Inc. in Toronto is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to support hardware electrical design for new or revised products and installations, using established engineering principles to meet railway requirements.

Design complex electrical/electronic products, ensure documentation quality, and prepare hardware/software specifications. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s preferred. Full-time on-site role.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in the industry.
• Strong grasp of Electrical Engineering Principles.
• Proficiency with engineering tools.
• Excellent verbal communication.
• Ability to design complex electrical and electronic products.
• Strong writing skills and up-to-date with technology.

Responsibilities

• Design new or revised products and installations to meet requirements.
• Ensure quality and integrity of hardware designs and documentation.
• Prepare specifications for hardware and software components.
• Develop design architecture and implement designs per standards.
• Review specifications and rules to ensure proper actions.
• Maintain safety and quality while reducing costs and improving reliability.
• Generate estimates for current and new developments.
• Support bids by defining technical solutions.
