Job summary

Hitachi Rail in Toronto, Ontario, is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead the full-cycle execution of rail transit projects, based in downtown Toronto. You will manage site installation, supervise subcontractors, and coordinate with clients to meet scope, cost, and schedule targets, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Requirements include 10–15+ years in rail transit, a Bachelor’s in Engineering or Construction Management, and Ontario P.Eng registration is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario desirable.
• English proficiency for written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage localized project construction and installation team and activities.
• Oversee construction and installation of systems within cost, schedule, scope, quality, safety and environmental requirements.
• Manage subcontractor scopes and contracts.
• Define and maintain project installation schedule across phases.
• Coordinate site activities with clients, stakeholders and other contractors.
• Ensure compliance with design and quality plans; manage non-conformances.
• Coordinate handover and commissioning activities; support changes to expedite progress.
