Having completed our pivotal clinical study, we are now focusing on regulatory approvals and launching our product—an exciting milestone.

Position: Senior Research and Development (R&D) Technician

This role is based onsite in Burnaby, BC.

Meaningful Work

The Senior R&D Technician supports engineering activities related to developing next-generation products and manufacturing processes, as well as improving current processes. They report to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities
  1. Assemble and build prototypes for new products and processes with minimal instructions.
  2. Assemble, build, and test new production equipment, including mechanical and electrical components.
  3. Conduct lab testing: collect raw data and provide it for analysis.
  4. Maintain lab spaces and equipment.
  5. Perform formal rework on non-conforming products.
  6. Design and build simple tools and fixtures for engineering activities.
  7. Provide feedback on manufacturability and improvement opportunities to Engineering.
  8. Write step-by-step instructions for new processes.
Candidate Profile

Ideal attributes include:

  • High school diploma
  • At least 10 years of experience as a Manufacturing Technician in regulated industries (medical devices, automotive, aerospace)
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices and cleanroom work
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination, especially under a microscope
  • Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Interpersonal skills: maturity, teamwork, tact, discretion
  • Adaptability to changing priorities
  • Proven productivity and drive to succeed
Compensation and Benefits

The listed salary range is CAD 88,000 - 97,000, including base salary and a 5% RRSP contribution. Compensation depends on experience and qualifications. Employees are also eligible for stock options.
