About the Role:

We're looking for a QA Automation Engineer who’s excited to lead, build, and grow quality assurance efforts for a product that’s changing how insurance gets done. Our platform is growing quickly, and quality is non-negotiable. This role will be pivotal in helping us scale QA infrastructure, improve automation coverage, and bring a forward-thinking approach to testing across our engineering teams. You’ll work closely with developers, product managers, and our AI/automation teams to ship confidently and consistently—ensuring we deliver on our promise of a seamless experience for our users.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the development and scaling of test automation frameworks (we currently use Playwright).
• Design and implement test strategies that drive confidence in releases—from unit to E2E and everything in between.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, product managers, and our AI platform team to identify gaps and opportunities in testing.
• Advocate for quality throughout the SDLC and coach developers on writing effective automated tests.
• Build and maintain CI/CD integrated automated testing pipelines that connect to our GitHub.
• Partner with engineering leadership to define and track quality metrics and push for excellence in execution.
• Champion simplicity, test reliability, and fast feedback cycles.

The right person for this role will have:

• 4–8+ years of experience in QA engineering, with a focus on automation.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript or Python, and experience with test automation frameworks (ideally Playwright, Cypress, or similar).
• A deep understanding of web applications, REST APIs, and modern front-end frameworks (we use React).
• Experience designing automated testing strategies across layers: unit, integration, API, E2E.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, etc.).
• A collaborative mindset, excellent communication skills, and a strong sense of ownership.
• A pragmatic approach—knowing when to test everything and when to move fast.

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience in high-growth startups or SaaS platforms.
• Familiarity with tools like Postman, Swagger, or Pact for API testing.
• Knowledge of performance and security testing.
• Experience coaching or mentoring other QA or software engineers.

Compensation and Benefits

• The range for base pay is $100,000 - $140,000 which is dependent on level of experience, performance and choice of stock option compensation
